Opening a new warehouse in Born, Mainfreight continues its European expansion. This facility has a total size of 26,000 m². Out of this warehouse, a wide range of services will be provided for existing and new customers: as well as tailor-made in- and outbound processes and high-quality storage, various value-adding activities will be performed, such as technical quality control, extensive return processes and transport management.
Thanks to its strategic location next to the barge terminal, Mainfreight will also offer multimodal supply chain solutions. Quick access to the motor highway (A2), accessibility to the Chemelot site and proximity to their recently completed cross-dock in Genk, enables the company to improve service levels for existing customers and to provide extensive end–to-end European distribution services for customers considering Born as a distribution hub. This is a major step for Mainfreight in developing and intensifying the network in the European Region.
Mainfreight began its operations in Auckland, New Zealand, in 1978. The global logistics provider offers managed warehousing and international and domestic freight forwarding. With team and branches across Australia, China, Europe, New Zealand and the United States Mainfreight continues to expand its global footprint. In 2011 Mainfreight acquired the business of Wim Bosman Group providing further opportunities to expand Mainfreight’s international global network with branches throughout Europe.
